On March 29-30, twenty-six participants from various public and private sectors including Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) benefited from knowledge, experience sharing of second project employing Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). The discourse with Mr. Ashok Gautam, Senior Divisional Engineer, Sunkoshi-Marin Tunnel Diversion Project (SMTDP) on technical, contractual, risk mitigation, environmental and social aspects were very impressive. Out of 13.3 km of the total length, only 790 m is left. NHA expresses sincere gratitude to him and Mr. Mitra Baral, Project Director, Sunkoshi-Marin Tunnel Diversion Project Team, and Department of Irrigation for their cooperation. The participant’s enthusiasm is also highly appreciated for making this excursion successful. NHA wishes for the successful completion of this transformational multipurpose project in Nepal.
